As the weather gets hot, indoor places with free air conditioning become especially popular. Prior to the opening of Kaohsiung Main Library, long lines of people started forming, with many choosing to sit near the air conditioning vents. The number of daily visitors in June has increased by 300 compared to May, with an average indoor temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. Visitors are even seen napping in furniture stores and department store food courts due to the free air conditioning. Library staff are issuing reminders and different colored notes to prevent improper seat occupation, as some readers prefer to sit near the air vents for the cool air.
