Taiwan's state-run Taipower continues to procure electricity from the Mailiao power plant's No.1 machine, which still has 54 billion kilowatt-hours of supplementary electricity to be issued, totaling around 15 billion yuan. This came after Formosa Petrochemical requested an extension but was asked by Yunlin County government to reduce emissions, resulting in an insufficient amount of electricity being generated during the contract period. Taipower and Formosa Petrochemical are abiding by the contractual obligations and discussing the completion of the short-supplied electricity to ensure contract integrity and stability.
