Mainland China Cancels ECFA Tariff Reductions, Taiwan PCB Association Estimates Limited Impact

Reported 12 months ago

China's Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council announced the suspension of tariff concessions for 134 products from Taiwan under the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) starting June 15, sparking discussions in the PCB industry. The Taiwan Printed Circuit Association (TPCA) estimates limited impact on the PCB industry, suggesting that manufacturers focus on developing high-end products to maintain customer loyalty. While the move may not have an immediate impact, companies are advised to prepare in advance. TPCA identifies potential affected PCB supply chains and highlights the irreplaceable role of Taiwanese manufacturers in the high-end product market, even with increased tariffs on imports from Taiwan.
