Mainland China: 'Rural Tutoring' Turns into Travel Trap, Commercial Profit Masquerading as Public Welfare

Reported 11 months ago

As summer vacation approaches, many adverts on Mainland China websites for 'rural tutoring' teachers claim that relevant experience is beneficial for applying to foreign universities. However, it has been discovered that these tutoring programs are primarily focused on travel and come with high fees. Investigations revealed these activities are commercial in nature, disguised under the guise of public welfare, potentially misleading consumers. Examples include summer camps in rural areas, marketing themselves as charity teaching activities but actually operating for profit.
