Major Telecom Companies Announce 3G Shutdown by End of June, Cellphones Without This Feature Might Lose Calling Function

CTWANT Weekly | On June 15, 2024 at 11:58 PM, the three major telecom companies in Taiwan have announced the closure of 3G networks by the end of June. With the advancement of mobile networks and increasing popularity of 5G, around 1.8 million users in Taiwan might be affected. To prevent users from facing the dilemma of being unable to make calls due to lack of support for 4G Voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology on their phones, the telecom companies have introduced special plans for users to switch to new phones at zero cost.
