Bank Negara Malaysia is considering implementing new measures to maintain the stability of the ringgit, as stated by the deputy governor. Efforts have already been made to bolster the local currency after it reached a 26-year-low in February, resulting in a steady ringgit since then. In addition to focusing on domestic challenges, such as fuel subsidy reforms, the central bank is monitoring the potential impact on monetary policy and economic outlook. Malaysia recently began phasing out blanket diesel subsidies and plans to do the same for RON95 gasoline to enhance its financial position.
