Malaysian Tourist Gets Taiwanese Bar Owner's Motorcycle License Suspended After Riding Drunk

[CTWANT Weekly] Malaysian retired engineer Stephen Siaw, 48, had his driver's license suspended for two years after riding a motorcycle without a helmet for only 200 meters while intoxicated at a well-known izakaya in Taichung. Siaw, who was in Taiwan for tourism in April, engaged in a conversation about motorcycles with the bar owner, who then showed him his beloved 390 Duke. The police stopped Siaw shortly after, measuring his blood alcohol level at 0.68mg/l. Siaw was sentenced to 3 months in prison with a fine of NT$90,000, paid and left Taiwan. The bar owner's motorcycle was confiscated for 2 years. Drink responsibly and never drink and drive.
