On February 4, a man in Taichung, Taiwan, called 119 to report a fire on the 1st floor of his community, which turned out to be false. The fire department dispatched 7 fire trucks and 1 ambulance only to find no fire. The man was fined 10,000 yuan for making a false report, violating fire department regulations. The fire department urges the public not to waste resources, as frivolous calls disrupt emergency services. In Taichung alone, there are over 170,000 calls to 119 annually, some of which are malicious or drunk calls, severely affecting rescue operations and risking lives. The fire chief emphasizes the importance of not abusing emergency lines and respecting firefighters' efforts in saving lives.
