In 2002, a brutal murder case occurred in Taichung City, Taiwan, where a young woman, nicknamed Xiao Mei, was strangled to death and left in the car trunk. The victim, unwilling to accept her fate, followed the culprit all the way until the case was solved. The murderer, Ah Qiang, had a history of taking advantage of Xiao Mei's financial stability and resorted to killing her after she refused to help him with debt issues. He then fled with his new partner, but was eventually caught by the police in a hotel in Tainan. During the arrest, a hotel staff member reported seeing a third person, believed to be an accomplice, in the room, though no one else was found during the police search. The lead investigator showed a photo of Xiao Mei to the staff member, who identified her as the same woman smiling at them from the back seat when Ah Qiang paid. This eerie incident serves as a reminder of the possible connections between the deceased and the living in criminal cases, emphasizing the importance of respecting the dead and avoiding wrongful paths.
