A 61-year-old man in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, surnamed Hu, made a homemade remote-controlled bomb out of dissatisfaction with a man surnamed Zheng intervening in his relationship with his girlfriend. Hu installed the bomb on the rear shock absorber of Zheng's scooter on October 29, 2023. The next day, neighbors noticed something suspicious near Zheng's scooter and found the bomb, prompting Zheng to report it to the police. After investigation, Hu was prosecuted for violating firearms laws. The bomb was capable of causing significant harm, and Hu admitted to the crime, claiming he only intended to teach Zheng a lesson and did not mean to harm anyone.
