In New Taipei's Bali Left Bank Pier area, a man who did not want to return home had been living in his camper for nearly 2 months. Concerned, his mother called the police for help. The man, aged 43, resisted arrest and brandished scissors, leading to a standoff with the police that lasted an hour. Eventually, the police broke the window with a shield and successfully brought him out. The man, unemployed and interested in traveling, had turned his camper into a living space and had even added iron bars to the windows and a ladder to the roof. The police chief emphasized the importance of using protective gear like shields when faced with individuals wielding weapons, like scissors, to ensure the safety of both officers and the individual involved.
