In a bizarre turn of events, Li purchased counterfeit license plates online and continued to drive the car with the fake plates. On June 16, police in Yangmei discovered the forged plates with the help of an AI patrol system, leading to Li's arrest. He now faces criminal charges for forgery, and the police are warning against the serious consequences of using counterfeit plates.
