In New Taipei City, a man named Gao was sentenced to 4 years and 10 months in prison for stabbing four neighbors on New Year's Eve as a response to ongoing noise issues. Gao suffered from mental and physical illness and alcohol dependence due to the noise disturbance caused by his neighbors. Despite filing 30 noise complaints with no resolution, Gao took extreme measures by attacking his neighbors, resulting in serious injuries. The court considered Gao's psychological condition and stress factors in reducing his sentence to 4 years and 10 months, which was upheld by the Supreme Court.
