A man in Taoyuan, Taiwan, who couldn't afford to pay a fine decided to try his luck with scratch cards to get rich but failed. After buying two cards and not winning, he impulsively stole 17 scratch cards from a stall. When he found one of them was worth NT$1,800, he tried to cash it at a lottery store and got caught, leading to a 6-month sentence and a fine of NT$180,000. The incident was captured on CCTV, and the man was arrested later the same day.
