On the morning of June 22, 2024, a man was reported by the public for having alcohol on him and a toy gun inserted in his waist while trying to board the MRT at Jiangzicui Station. A dispute occurred between the man and station staff, leading to police intervention and the man being taken back. The man's breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.26 milligrams. CCTV footage confirmed no menacing behavior, but he was still prosecuted under the Social Order Maintenance Act and sent to court. Carrying a toy gun may violate the law if it resembles a real gun, lacks a legitimate reason, and creates fear among the public in the environment at that moment.
