On July 1, 2024, Changhua area experienced a disruption in service, suspected to be caused by a server room failure at Central Telecom. Many residents found that not only were landline phones unusable, but even emergency services like 110 and 119 were offline. Discussions on the incident quickly surfaced online, with residents reporting disruptions beginning around 1 am, causing difficulties in making calls for about an hour. Central Telecom is yet to provide an official explanation for the incident.
