On June 6, 2024, Mayor Lu Hsiu-yan of Taichung was honored as the 'Five-Star Chief Executive' for the second time in a row, with the highest satisfaction and governance scores among the six major cities. She expressed gratitude to the rational and practical Taichung citizens for their support, vowing to continue working hard to repay them. Taichung excelled in the 2024 mayor satisfaction survey, with an average satisfaction rate of 70.3% across eight aspects, being the only city surpassing 70% satisfaction, and ranking first in economics, education, and healthcare satisfaction among the six cities.
