During heavy rain in Hsinchu, Taiwan on June 14, lunchtime diners at a McDonald's near the train station were surprised to find themselves getting wet indoors due to a leaking ceiling. The leakage escalated, prompting the temporary closure of the seating area. The issue was later traced back to a drainage system problem caused by afternoon thunderstorms. Diners had to vacate their seats as water dripped from the light fixtures, ultimately leading to the closure of the affected area on the second floor of the restaurant. The business resorted to using buckets to contain the leaks while addressing the situation. Thankfully, the incident did not extend to the third floor. Despite the inconvenience, patrons managed to see humor in the unusual occurrence as they continued their meals while avoiding the water. Similar incidents in the vicinity during heavy rain were also reported.
