Starling Marte of the SNYMets was ejected by umpire Manny Gonzalez in a game against the Cleveland Guardians for arguing balls and strikes after a strikeout. Marte claimed he didn't say anything to warrant the ejection, expressing his frustration with the called strikes. Despite feeling surprised by the ejection, Marte was replaced by Tyrone Taylor in right field. The outfielder finished the night 0-for-2 with a strikeout and a peculiar double play.
