A man in Kaohsiung visited the doctor due to a headache, only to find out that his brain was invaded by the 'Fowleri amoeba' causing encephalitis, resulting in his death despite treatment. The amoeba, known as 'Naegleria fowleri,' may enter the brain through the nasal cavity, with symptoms like headache, vomiting, and stiff neck. Doctors advise caution while swimming in rivers or pools, urging prompt medical attention if experiencing headache, neck stiffness, or vomiting after swimming to prevent potential brain infections.
