On June 16, 2024, at 10:43 PM, a 20-year-old army soldier named Wang was stabbed to death by a 17-year-old boy during a dispute over alcohol at a shrimp fishing park in Pingtung City. Wang, who was on vacation and supposed to return to the camp on Sunday, was involved in an argument due to a toast where the boy suddenly attacked him with a knife, injuring him severely. Despite immediate medical attention, Wang succumbed to his injuries. The military expressed shock and regret over the incident.
