On June 20, the Ministry of National Defense disclosed the People's Liberation Army's movements in the Taiwan Strait on June 20 and predicted that mainland China will execute a rocket launch mission from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center on June 22 towards the Western Pacific, passing through Taiwan's air defense identification zone at an altitude outside the atmosphere. This marks the second time Minister Gu Li-xiong has released information on mainland rocket launches since taking office, with the previous announcement made on May 29. The Ministry has adjusted its practices following previous scares, now timely informing the public about mainland rocket launches when reporting daily PLA activities around Taiwan.
