During the Ministry of Labor's minimum wage review committee meeting, TCC Chairman Shu-Bo Hsu suggested that raising the minimum wage hourly rate would benefit workers, especially part-time workers and students. Hsu pointed out that adjusting the minimum wage has a greater impact on the manufacturing sector and can benefit foreign workers more than local ones, stressing the importance of adjusting the hourly rate. The meeting aimed to discuss various economic factors, but no decisions on wage adjustments were made. Hsu also addressed concerns about the burden on small and medium-sized enterprises, particularly in the manufacturing industry. He emphasized that adjusting the hourly rate, rather than the minimum monthly wage, would truly help workers.
