Mitsubishi Corporation's net profit rose by 33% to 618 billion yen in the first half of the fiscal year, driven by increased liquefied natural gas (LNG) production and gains from Australian coal mines. The company's LNG capacity is expected to exceed 17 million tons per year by the early 2030s, bolstered by its stakes in multiple international projects. Despite the profit boost, Mitsubishi maintained its annual profit forecast at 950 billion yen, in a market where domestic LNG consumption has seen a decline.
