Mobile Art Gallery! Alishan Forest Railway's 'Fusen No' to Start Operating in July, All-in-One Guide to Itinerary, Accommodation, and Ticket Booking

Reported about 1 year ago

In July, after a 15-year wait, the Alishan Forest Railway is finally fully operational, featuring the legendary 'Fusen No' sightseeing train that offers a dual feast for the eyes and taste buds. The train, known as a 'mobile art gallery,' is meticulously crafted with Taiwan's unique red cypress and juniper wood and offers services like table-side service, special bento boxes from the Alishan Ingrid Hotel, and performances by indigenous peoples. Additionally, exclusive themed itineraries such as 'Good Eats,' 'Forest Healing,' 'Music in the Forest,' and 'Tea Tasting' are designed by Lion Travel for passengers to enjoy. For those interested in overnight stays, accommodation options include the newly opened Chiayi Focun Voco Hotel, Alishan Ingrid Hotel halfway up the mountain, and the five-star Alishan Hotel up in the mountain. The Alishan Forest Railway operates four daily regular train services that can be booked online, with varying departure and arrival times between Chiayi and Alishan. Seats for Fusen No between July and September are in high demand, but additional spots may be released on July 8, and bookings for the fourth quarter will begin in August.
