Wang Yichuan, the executive director of the DPP Policy Committee, was questioned in Taipei today for suggesting the use of mobile phone signals to analyze the age of crowds outside the Legislative Yuan, raising concerns of monitoring public movements. Following recent protests outside the Legislative Yuan, where tens of thousands gathered, including the 'Bluebird Action' on May 28, concerns grew over privacy violations. While the National Police Agency denied using phone signals to track crowds, the Taipei Prosecutors Office called Wang Yichuan in to clarify the situation as a witness in an ongoing investigation under the communication laws.
