On July 17, 2024, at 9:41 pm, on Hwayuan Bridge in Taimali, Taitung County, a heavy motorcycle and truck collision occurred, leading to the rider's fatal head injuries and immediate death. The truck driver suffered leg fractures as his legs were pinned under the crushed truck's front end and was sent for medical treatment. The cause of the accident is under police investigation. Authorities urge drivers to avoid fatigue, speeding, reckless overtaking, and to obey traffic rules to ensure road safety.
