UBS Japan has appointed Masazumi Toriyama as the head of its global banking division, effective August 4. Toriyama, who has extensive experience from his previous 18 years at UBS, replaces interim head Yasunori Saku, who will take on a new role as chairman of Global Banking Japan. This leadership change is part of UBS’s strategy to expand its workforce by 50% in the division amid increasing investment banking activity in Japan.
