Amid ongoing military actions by mainland China, there are reports of several mainland Chinese commercial aircraft flying through 'abnormal' civil aviation routes over the airspace of Kinmen and Matsu. The Civil Aviation Administration of Taiwan stated that the mainland Chinese air traffic control unit contacted Taiwan in the afternoon, explaining that due to weather conditions, the aircraft may fly around Kinmen and Matsu airspace. Taiwanese citizens witnessed airlines such as Xiamen Airlines, Air Macau, China Eastern Airlines, and Air China flying over Kinmen and Matsu, questioning the current status of the Taiwan Strait median line. The Civil Aviation Administration assured that the aircraft did not enter Taiwanese-controlled airspace and that flight operations were not affected.
