Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel emphasized that the European Central Bank must stay vigilant despite consumer-price growth slowing to the 2% target by the end of 2024. Speaking at an open day in Frankfurt, he noted the need for alertness due to uncontrollable factors like energy prices, while projecting inflation to average 2.2% next year and 1.9% in 2026.
