Due to bad weather caused by rainy front in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, Naha Airport experiences dense fog affecting visibility, leading to 11 flights being diverted to other airports and 6 flights being cancelled on June 16. Flights from Taiwan and Hong Kong are among those that choose to return to their departure airports due to the special circumstances. The airport faced over a hundred flight delays/cancellations in previous days due to bad weather, with the terminal crowded. Operations gradually resumed as the weather improved around midday, but delays persisted for multiple flights. Ground staff had to take shelter due to frequent lightning strikes.
