Dr. Li Sihien mentioned that taking a 20-30 minute nap before lunch can help with mental recovery, and advised having a cup of coffee before the nap to enhance afternoon work efficiency. Dr. Li explained that entering the light sleep stages N1 and N2 during a nap, and avoiding the deep sleep stage N3, can prevent grogginess upon waking up. Although a full sleep cycle of 90 minutes is ideal for enhancing memory and alleviating morning fatigue, even a short nap can improve cognitive function. Dr. Li also recommended paying attention to food intake, as consuming high-GI foods or fast food before noon can harm the mitochondria, affecting energy levels and inducing drowsiness.
