Due to the vigorous development of afternoon convective cloud systems, Taiwan is prone to short-duration heavy rain. On June 26, 2024, the Central Weather Bureau issued an immediate message for heavy thunderstorms in Tainan City, Nantou County, Yunlin County, Chiayi County, Kaohsiung City, Yilan County, Hsinchu County, New Taipei City, and Taoyuan City from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. National alarms have been activated.
