Nationalist Party Questions Democratic Progressives' Anti-Power Expansion Lectures; Secretary-General Lin Youchang Reveals 'True Purpose': Our Standards Are Not That Low

Reported 10 months ago

The Nationalist Party and Democratic Progressive Party jointly proposed legislation such as the 'Legislative Yuan Exercise of Powers Act' for parliamentary reform, which was recently passed. The Executive Yuan raised reservations prompting the Democratic Progressive Party to plan 'Protect Democracy, Anti-Abuse of Power' lecture activities. In response, the Nationalist Party announced they will hold large-scale lecture events across Taiwan starting June 15 to counteract this, questioning the hidden intention of the Democratic Progressive Party's lectures. In an interview, Secretary-General Lin Youchang explained that the purpose of the Democratic Progressive Party's lectures is to deepen democracy, not for recall efforts or political confrontation, emphasizing that their intentions are not that low.
