NBA/Lakers Make Big Move! Acquire Former Hawks' Star in Exchange for 4 Players, Pelicans Clear Wish List -1

Reported 12 months ago

On June 28, 2024, the Pelicans welcomed former Hawks' star, Dejounte Murray, in a '4-for-1' trade. As the NBA free agency approaches on July 1, the Pelicans, who were eliminated in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs, completed a trade on the 29th sending Larry Nance Jr., 21-year-old guard Dyson Daniels, and two first-round picks to the Hawks in exchange for star guard Murray. The Lakers, who had interest in Murray since February, did not include Austin Reaves in the deal, leading the Hawks to choose the Pelicans' offer instead. The Pelicans hope Murray's addition will help with their on-court performance, while the Hawks gain a promising center and picks for further rebuilding.
