According to Defense Blog, the Dutch Ministry of Defense signed a contract with BAE Systems on June 13 to acquire the 'Mjölner' 120mm artillery system. The system will be integrated onto the existing CV90 infantry fighting vehicles, enhancing the Dutch mechanized forces' firepower projection and combat effectiveness. This procurement makes the Netherlands the second country after Sweden to adopt the 'Mjölner' system, with over 40 CV90 artillery vehicles already in service in the Swedish Army. The 'Mjölner' system features a vehicle-mounted dual-barrel design that can be installed in turrets or fixed mounts, providing rapid and reliable breech loading in all combat environments and integration with modern fire control systems for increased ammunition storage capacity.
