A netizen surnamed Wang was fined 5,000 yuan by the Shilin District Court for publicly insulting celebrity 'Chicken Cutlet Sister,' Zheng Caiyun, online. Wang had commented on a post about Zheng's quick marriage, calling her names and insinuating that her partner might cheat on her. The court ruled that Wang's comments degraded Zheng's social reputation and dignity, outweighing his freedom of speech. Despite admitting guilt, Wang's failure to reconcile with Zheng led to the penalty, which could be converted to community service at 1,000 yuan per day, with room for appeal.
