Starting July 1st, new insurance regulations in Taiwan will include a decrease in travel insurance rates, enhanced disclosure of dividend policies in insurance plans, and clearer definitions of disability coverage. In response to potential misuse of medical insurance claims, a new principle of 'damage compensation' will require original receipts for claims to prevent exceeding total medical expenses. The reforms may impact policyholders who previously benefited from multiple claims and lead to stricter claim conditions by insurance companies. The changes aim to address improper gains in insurance claims and are set to come into effect later this year.
