After 20 years, Japan has updated the design of its banknotes with new 1000, 5000, and 10000 yen denominations, officially issued today while old banknotes remain valid. Mega Bank stated that the new version of Japanese banknotes will arrive as early as next week. The new banknotes feature enhanced security measures including 3D holographic technology and enlarged Arabic numerals for easier identification by consumers. The old banknotes will continue to be accepted even after the circulation of the new banknotes according to the Bank of Japan and the Ministry of Finance. Taiwan may receive the new Japanese banknotes as early as next week, with specific details pending the release from the Bank of Japan and foreign exchange cash suppliers.
