On June 14, 2024, FTNN News Network reported that the New Property Hoarding Tax 2.0, adapted in Hsinchu City, will be implemented starting July 1 this year with collection commencing next May. The revision aims to apply tax rates based on national property holdings to increase costs for multiple property owners and encourage effective utilization and rationalization of property tax burdens. Mayor Gao Hong-an highlighted that the tax policy promotes residential justice by reducing taxes for self-occupied residences and imposing higher rates on unused multiple homes, aligning with fair and just practices.
