The government's introduction of the 'New Qing'an' housing loan policy aimed at addressing the issue of young people being unable to afford homes has instead led to a surge in property purchases, according to Taiwan People's Party Chairman Ko Wen-je. While this policy enables young individuals to purchase homes, it has also resulted in skyrocketing property prices, making it worse for both those who have not yet purchased a home and those who have. Ko Wen-je emphasized that loosening mortgage conditions cannot achieve housing justice, as it only burdens homebuyers with higher mortgage repayments, especially after the 5-year grace period of the 'New Qing'an' loans ends.
