Following the identification of Yucheng C., the mastermind behind the Magic Cat SMS scam software, a new and rapidly growing operation named Magic Mouse has surfaced. Researchers warn that Magic Mouse is already stealing up to 650,000 credit cards each month, using phishing kits that mimic legitimate services, while law enforcement appears to be overlooking the broader issue of such scams proliferating due to inadequate actions by tech and financial institutions. Victims are advised to ignore suspicious text messages.
