New Taipei City Council Speaker's Son Involved in Election Law Violation Case

The son of the current New Taipei City Council Speaker, Jiang Gen-huang, who is running for the New Taipei City 4th Legislative District seat, was accused of spreading false information during the election campaign. The Investigation Bureau launched a search under the Election and Recall Act, resulting in a 1 million NT dollar bail set by the Taipei District Prosecutor's Office. In response, Mayor Hou Yu-ih expressed the importance of respecting the judiciary. The case involves allegations of instructing online troops to spread false statements about Legislator Wu Ping-jui.
