New Taipei City Launches Great Citrus Plan with Councilor Zhuo Guan-ting Focusing on Enhancing Local Living Support from the Government

Reported 12 months ago

New Taipei City Councilor Zhuo Guan-ting announced on July 2, 2024, the initiation of the development discussion for the Great Citrus Urban Plan covering 621 hectares of land, expected to be the highlight of the next generation. With uncertainties about the proportions of industrial, agricultural, and commercial areas in the plan, and the anticipation of a surge in local population post-development, Zhuo emphasized the need for the government to gather consensus and further improve transportation support. The area currently consists mainly of factories and low-density residential buildings, with some illegal structures. Various challenges include coordinating the opinions of over 10,000 landowners and addressing the situation of legal and illegal factories. The City's Urban Planning Director Huang Guo-feng mentioned that the summer of July will witness four symposiums held locally to discuss the Great Citrus Urban Plan, aiming to guide urban development momentum, integrate public resources, and enhance the employment environment, living standards, and public facility environmental quality in the Citrus area.
