According to a potential candidate poll circulating within the Kuomintang, Taipei City Vice Mayor Li Sichuan has a significant lead in support over the current New Taipei City Deputy Mayor Liu He-ran. When asked about the situation where Li Sichuan has the highest support, Taipei City Mayor Chiang Wan-an, who previously said he wanted to 'hug Li Sichuan tightly', responded with a sudden rendition of the Mayday song 'Embrace Me' in an attempt to keep him. The poll also includes other potential candidates such as Legislator Hong Meng-kai, with Li Sichuan ranking first with 37.26% support, Hong at 14% in second place, and Liu He-ran at a mere 5.14% at the bottom.
