A man surnamed Hong from New Taipei described drifting at sea for 19 hours only holding onto a lifebuoy. He was rescued by a passing fishing boat near the Fuyuan Bay beach in New Taipei City, after falling asleep while swimming in the water without a life jacket and waking up far from the shore. Despite being taken to a hospital by the fire department, Hong insisted he was fine and left the emergency room on his own accord.
