New Trend in Health Insurance: 'Non-Guaranteed Renewal'

Reported 8 months ago

The Financial Supervisory Commission in Taiwan is driving healthcare insurance reform, with some products expected to be taken off the shelves by the end of June and new versions to be introduced soon. Taiwan Life Insurance will be the first to launch a one-year individual health insurance policy with 'non-guaranteed renewal' in July. Changes in the insurance policies are causing a stir in the market, with policies like the 'pay-as-claimed' medical insurance and accidental insurance to be restricted to original receipts for claims starting from October 1. Fubon Life Insurance has already announced the discontinuation of several medical insurance policies by the end of June due to the upcoming changes.
