Nutritionist Han-Yu Chen explains that commonly heard green beans and red beans actually fall under the starch bean category. Protein beans like soybeans, black beans, and edamame provide ample protein for muscle building and weight management, while starchy beans such as red beans, green beans, and chickpeas offer energy.
