Nvidia Corp. is significantly increasing its staff in China, hiring hundreds this year to bolster its research efforts in autonomous driving technologies. By the end of 2024, the company will have approximately 4,000 employees in China, up from around 3,000 at the start of the year. The expansion includes adding about 200 researchers in Beijing focused on self-driving technology, despite ongoing US-China trade tensions and regulatory challenges. Nvidia remains committed to the Chinese market, which generated $5.4 billion in sales in the recent quarter and serves as a critical hub for its AI chip development.
