NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) announced that NYC streets will soon have speed limits as low as 20 or even 10 mph following the passing of Sammy's Law. The law, inspired by a 12-year-old boy's tragic death, allows the city to lower speed limits in specific areas to enhance road safety and prevent traffic accidents. Initial proposed locations for speed reduction across boroughs were also outlined.
